Type data: This species was described based on an unknown number of females collected in an undetermined locality. A single female in good condition bearing original Lepeletier’s label collected in Brazil was found at MNHP. This specimen probably belongs to the type series of the species and it is here designated the lectotype, despite the incongruence on the local of provenance. The specimen has the following data label: dorsata [handwritten]\ [green label] Museum Paris [printed] Brésil [handwritten]\ [red label] holotype [handwritten]\ white circular label (MNHP). There were not found additional specimens of this species with Lepeletier’s labels in MNHP or OUMNH.

Type locality: Brazil .

Comments: This species was correctly interpreted by Moure et al. (2007). According to these authors, its distribution range includes the Department of Cochabamba in central Bolivia and the states of Goiás, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and São Paulo in central-west, southern and southeastern Brazil .
