Distribution in Iran. Golestan (Hoberlandt 1997; Linnavuori 2008), Kerman (Modarres Awal 1997b as Brachynema segetum Jakovlev; Zeinoddini Memand et al. 2012, 2013), Markazi, Sistan & Baluchestan (Hoberlandt 1997; Ribes & Pagola Carte 2013), West Azarbaijan (Linnavuori 2012), Iran (no locality cited) (Rider 2006; Modarres Awal 1997b).

General distribution. Caucasus (Azerbaijan, Asian Kazakhstan, Georgia, Iran, Turkmenistan), northwestern China, southern Russia.

Host plants. In pistachio garden (Modarres Awal 1997b; Zeinoddini Memand et al. 2012, 2013) and on Phaseolus sp. ( Fabaceae), Peganum harmala ( Zygophyllaceae), Salsola sp. ( Salsolaceae) or Salicornia sp. ( Chenopodiaceae), Seidlitzia rosmarinus ( Amaranthaceae) (Modarres Awal 1997b as Brachynema segetum Jakovlev), Alhagi sp. ( Fabaceae), Salsola sp. ( Salsolaceae), Peganum sp., Zygophyllum sp. (both Zygophyllaceae) (Zeinoddini Memand et al. 2013); recorded on Salsolaceae (Ribes & Pagola Carte 2013) .

Comments. Brachynema puncticornis Reuter was recorded by Ghahari et al. (2009a) from rice fields in northern Iran. This was an erroneous name in place of Brachynotocoris puncticornis Reuter, 1889 ( Miridae), which will be listed in the catalogue of Iranian Miridae .
