5. Genus Lophoscirtus Bruner, 1910
This monotypic genus is known from only four specimens of a unique species, Lophoscirtus gracilis (Bruner, 1900) found in Argentina (Corrientes) and Uruguay (Montevideo) (Fig. 37). This species is characterized by body elongated, slightly flattened; antennae with 17 segments; middle femur with a tiny, internal, dorso-apical spine and, the most important morphological aspect in the head, that does not permit it to be confused with any known batrachideine: frontal costa (lateral view) protrusive, almost horn-like (Grant, 1956, 1962).
