2. Genus Cranotettix Grant, 1955
This genus was described based only in a unique female specimen sampling in 1937 at Panamá (Chiriqui Volcano) (Fig. 36) and named Cranotettix alpha Grant, 1955 (Fig. 10). This species is characterized by pronotum which covering over the head and surpassing the apex of the abdomen, almost reaching the apex of the knee; pronotum tuberculate and very lightly scabrous surface; infrascapular area distinctive; tegmina, tegminal sinus and wings lacking; middle femur apical spine absence; hind femur slender, about three and three-quarter times as long as broad (Grant, 1955a, 1962).
