9. Genus Puiggaria Bolívar, 1887
This genus has brachypronotal and macropronotal specimens in the unique species known: Puiggaria antennata Bolívar, 1887 (Fig. 27). It is characterized by fastigium not reaching the most anterior surface of the eyes; antennae with 20-22 segments; anterior margin of the pronotum (lateral and dorsal view) hook-like (median carina sharply cristate); mid femur apical spine presence and the exclusive characteristic among the batrachideines: frontal costa and fascial carinae (frontal view) widely divergent, forming a scutellate frontal structure (as shield-shaped) (Fig. 27C) (Grant, 1956, 1962). The distribution is known in Southern Brazil from the States of Matto Grosso, Paraná, Santa Catharina, S„o Paulo (Grant, 1956, 1962) and Paraguay (Horqueta) (Grant, 1962) (Fig. 37).
