Comments.
The species is widely distributed in Angola, except for the southeastern areas of the country, where it is replaced by Trachylepis damarana (Peters, 1870) . The Angolan population was long identified as Trachylepis varia (Peters, 1867), but recent reviews by Weinell and Bauer (2018) and Ceríaco et al. (2024) validated the specific status of albopunctata .
