Adapantus transmarinus (Krauss, 1890)

Krauss, 1890: Meroncidius transmarinus Krauss, 1890

Griffini 1906: Adapantus transmarinus (Krauss, 1890)

The species was described by Krauss from a small series found on Rolas Islands, São Tomé. Griffini (1906) mentions two males from Ribeira Palma and Água Izé in São Tomé and another male from Príncipe (but see below for this specimen, here considered as belonging to A. excavatus n.sp.), while Bolivar (1906) seems to have had doubts about differences to his A. osorioi, described 1886. We did not find nor hear it on São Tomé.
