Pseudochlorella pyrenoidosa

has been found, for example, in soil in the Italian Dolomites (Ettl & Gärtner 2013) or in an abandoned field in north-eastern Italy (Zancan et al. 2006). The species P. signiensis occurs free-living in soil and on artificial hard substrates (Darienko et al. 2016).
