Oryssomus rogeri sp. nov.

Description of holotype (female). Length 4.92, width 3.61 mm. Form elongate oval, widest at middle of elytra, somewhat flattened dorsoventrally (Fig. 7 C). General color brownish yellow. Outline of pronotum and elytron discontinuous. Pronotum brownish yellow, with a small basal black spot, translucent at apex; finely, densely punctured; pubescence of semidecumbent yellowish hairs (Fig. 7 D). Elytra brownish yellow with a rhomboidal black spot on the middle of the dorsum (Fig. 7 A). Elytral punctures coarse, dense, slightly larger than on pronotum and sparse in the discal area. Antenna and mouthparts brownish yellow, hypomera and epipleura yellow, legs brownish yellow. Metaventrite finely, sparsely punctured medially and anteriorly; coarsely, densely punctured laterally and posteriorly with punctures large, often confluent (Fig. 7 B). Abdominal ventrites coarsely punctured, punctures separated by about a diameter or less, punctures becoming coarser laterally on first and second ventrites (Fig. 7 E). First abdominal ventrite with postcoxal line almost touching the posterior margin of the first abdominal ventrite. Genitalia with genital plates triangular, elongate, styli with setae; spermatheca very elongate, rounded at apex (Fig. 7 F).

Male. Unknown.

Etymology. This species is named in honor of Dr. Roger G. Booth, a noted specialist in Coccinellidae systematics.

Discussion. Oryssomus rogeri sp. nov. resembles O. rhombus sp. nov. in color pattern, but the spots are differently shaped; it also differs in the form of the male and female genitalia.

Geographical distribution. Espírito Santo, Vila Cachoeira, Brazil (Fig. 15).
