1. Neoryssomus germainii (Crotch, 1874)

Oryssomus germainii Crotch, 1874: 292 (original description).

Cranoryssus germaini: Brèthes, 1923: 455 (new combination); Korschefsky, 1931: 175 (catalogue); Blackwelder, 1945: 446 (check list); Gordon, 1987: 35 (lectotype designation, catalogue).

Neoryssomus germaini: Hofmann, 1972: 83 (new combination; morphological details and male genitalia figured).

Type material: Crotch Collection (UMZC, 2 ex., lectotype “ Germainii chili ” [blue paper] [genitalia slidemounted]), Chile.

Geographical distribution: Chile: Valparaiso to Bio-Bio (Hofmann 1972).

Remarks. Brèthes (1923) considered all species of Oryssomus described by Crotch as Cranoryssus, even O. germainii, with antennae short, 11 antennomeres, antennal scape dilated and club large, 3 segmented. See remarks under N. variabilis .
