Type-species Perilitus eximius Muesebeck 1955

Diagnosis. Eyes extremely large and bulging anteriorly, with minute setae; frons excavated medially; occipital carina complete; female flagellum only weakly thickened apically, most basal flagellomeres wider apically; malar space very short; malar suture present; labial palps 3-segmented and maxillary palp 5-segmented. Mesopleuron mostly smooth with shallow and wide rugose sternaulus; propodeum areolate, with more or less deep medial impression. Fore wing vein RS not strongly curved, reaching wing margin near apex, vein R1 distinctly longer than stigma; fore wing venation mostly complete for Euphorinae, except for vein r-m (as typical of other Perilitini); vein m-cu arising shortly basad to clearly distad vein 2RS. Metasoma with petiole long and fused ventrally, slightly shorter than remainder terga and at most 3 × wider apically than basally; spiracles on petiole very prominent and near middle; ovipositor straight to slightly curved and equal to or longer than petiole.
