Anthemis mixta Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 894. 1753.

"Habitat in Italia, Gallia." RCN: 6477.

Lectotype (Humphries in Jarvis & Turland in Taxon 47: 352. 1998): [icon] " Anthemis maritima, lanuginosa, annua, foliis crassis, Pyrethri sapore, semiflosculis albis, juxta discum luteis " in Micheli, Nov. Pl. Gen.: 32, t. 30, f. 1. 1729.

Current name: Cladanthus mixtus (L.) Chevall ( Asteraceae).

Note: Alavi (in Jafri & El-Gadi, Fl. Libya 107: 143. 1983) indicated Herb. Linn. 1016.18 (LINN) as type but as this is annotated "pyrethrum 12" by Linnaeus, it cannot be original material for Anthemis mixta . Benedí González (in Collect. Bot. (Barcelona) 17: 62. 1987) indicated 1016.8 (LINN) as the lectotype but this is a collection unannotated by Linnaeus apart from an indication that it came from Löfling ( “L”). Neither is eligible for designation as lectotype, and Humphries therefore chose the Micheli plate in their place.
