Current name: Spergularia media (L.) C. Presl ( Caryophyllaceae).

Note: A number of authors, from Fernald & Wiegand (in Rhodora 12: 159. 1910) to Rauschen (in Feddes Repert. 88: 312. 1977) informally rejected this name as a persistent source of confusion, and Lambinon (in Taxon 30: 364. 1981) made a formal proposal for its rejection. However, this was not approved by the Committee for Spermatophyta (in Taxon 35: 562. 1986).
