Generitype of Aeschynomene Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 174. 1929).

Current name: Aeschynomene aspera L. ( Fabaceae: Faboideae).

Note: Although Rudd (in Reinwardtia 5: 30. 1959) stated "Type collected by P. Hermann?", her expressed doubt means that Ali’s choice of material in LINN as type has priority.
