Current name: Asclepias purpurascens L. ( Asclepiadaceae).

Note: See Gray (in Proc. Amer. Acad. Arts 12: 67. 1876) and Britten (in J. Bot. 36: 298. 1898) who both use the expression "founded upon" (which is not accepted as equivalent to “type”) in connection with the cited Dillenius plate.
