Type Locality: Brazil, Amazonas, "a small settlement on the right bank of the lower Rio Acari close to the confluence with the Rios Sucunduri and Canuma", 05°07’08"S, 60°01’14"W.

Vernacular Names: Rio Acari Marmoset.

Distribution: Presumed to be the entire interfluvium of the Rios Acari and Sucunduri (Brazil).

Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Least Concern as Mico acariensis .

Discussion: Subgenus Mico .
