Distribution: Bioko (Equatorial Guinea); Korup and Cross River region, on both sides of Nigeria-Cameroon border.
Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Endangered as E. p. pallidus, otherwise Lower Risk (nt).
Discussion: Accepted as a species by Groves (1989:104; 2001 c).
