Idioscopus virescens Viraktamath 1979a: 22–3, figs 27–31.
Diagnosis. Externally resembling I. irenae, but inner margin of corium bluish white and rest of forewing brown. Male antennae with subapical ring of black (Fig. 27C). Male pygofer with long ventral process. Aedeagus with well-developed dorsal apodeme, aedeagal shaft with lateral lamellate process in distal half each process with serrated lateral margin, shaft apex with ventrally directed short pair of processes (Figs 27 GH).
Material examined. HOLOTYPE ♂, INDIA: Kerala: Maraiyur, 24.ii.1977, S. Viraktamath Coll. (UASB).
Remarks. Both I. irenae and I. virescens have bright yellowsh green clavus. Development of lateral lamellate process on aedeagal shaft is unique for the species of Idioscopus occurring in the subcontinent.
