Genus Ceylonoscopus Viraktamath
Ceylonoscopus Viraktamath 2007: 24 . Type species: Ceylonoscopus quadripunctatus Viraktamath, by original designation.
Diagnosis. Species of Ceylonoscopus resemble those of Idioscopus, but differ in the structure of aedeagus, style and subgenital plates. Subgenital plates have two rows of more or less short, stout setae in proximal half, aedeagus has large atrium as in Busonia with ventral margin prolonged, shaft with median lamellate processes on lateral margin, style with one prominent angle on ventral margin of apophysis proximad of midlength.
Remarks. The genus was adequately described by Viraktamath (2007). At present it contains only one species restricted to Sri Lanka.
