Thinolestris luteola Grootaert & Meuffels, 1989, Indo­Malayan Zoology 5: 33 (Figs. 1–5).

Diagnosis: Antenna yellow, third segment a little darker than basal segments. Mesonotum and scutellum reddish yellow in ground­colour with black bristles. First abdominal tergite yellow, following segments black. Hairs on tergites brownish, marginal setae black. Tip of hypandrium indented (Fig. 12).

Distribution: Papua New Guinea: Coral Sea and Bismarck Sea (New Ireland). Phenology: Adults observed only September (being the single collecting period).
