TYPE LOCALITY: USA, California, San Luis Obispo Co., Carrizo Plain, Painted Rock, 20 [=25.5] mi (32 km) SE of Simmler .

DISTRIBUTION: Western edge of Joaquin Valley, adjacent Carrizo and Elkhorn plains and upper Cuyama Valley of WC California (USA).

STATUS: U.S. ESA and State of California Dept, of Fish and Game - Endangered; IUCN - Indeterminate. Extirpated over much of its original range.
