The species keys to Paramerina Fittkau in Murray and Fittkau (1989). Based on the re-examination of the holotype the following characters are added to the original description: tibial spurs stouter than in other Paramerina species, i.e. fore tibial spur 60 μm long with maximum width 16 μm (in P. d i v i s a 50 μm long with maximum width 7 μm), with 4–5 lateral teeth (2–3 in other Paramerina species); abdominal tergites I–III with inverted V-shaped dark pattern, tergite VIII somewhat darker (in other species pale); and AR = 1.84 (1.66 in the original description) (Figs. 7–8).
