Monodiamesa bathyphila (Kieffer)

Monodiamesa bathyphila (Kieffer, 1918: 102) (as Prodiamesa); Tokunaga (1936: 527–528, Fig. 2) (as Prodiamesa); Saether (1973: 675–676) (Key to species).

Prodiamesa chuzenigra Sasa, 1989: 151 –152. [Holotype 052: 001.] Sasa (1984: 91–93, Figs. 91A–K, 92A–G, 93A–K, 94A–H) (as Prodiamesa sp.). Syn. nov.

Prodiamesa kamidefea Sasa et Hirabayashi, 1993: 379 –380, Fig. 14 a–l. [Holotype 239: 095.] Syn. nov.

Saether et al. (2000) transferred Prodiamesa chuzenigra and P. k a m i d e f e a to the genus Monodiamesa Kieffer and indicated that these species might be synonyms of M. bathyphila (Kieffer) . A re-examination of the holotypes of P. chuzenigra and P. k a m i d e f e a revealed no morphological differences in the hypopygium between these two species and M. bathyphila .
