Agonocryptus adustus Gupta, 1982: Yu et al., 2006. Catalog.

Variation. As reported by Gupta (1982), except as follows. Yellow mark along pronotal collar interrupted in the middle (vs. complete); speculum with a distinct yellow mark (vs. with a small yellow mark). The specimen from Sucumbios (Ecuador) with fore wing lacking the central brown mark, showing only the apical mark (vs. marked brown medially and apically).

Distribution. Brazil (Pará), Colombia NR, Ecuador, and Peru (Fig. 18B). Bootstrap analysis suggests that this species does not occur on a distinct or preferred range of elevations (Fig. 21K), which is atypical for Agonocryptus (Fig. 21).
