Type Locality: Haití, 4 mi. (6.4 km) east of St. Michel, cave near Atalaya plantation.

Distribution: Haití.

Conservation: IUCN – Extinct.

Discussion: Formerly occurred together with N. hypomicrus, N. micrus, Solenodon marcanoi and S. paradoxus on Hispaniola. Found in association with Rattus bones (MacPhee et al., 1999).
