Comments.
There is a specimen from Bowring-Chevrolate collection labeled with a handwritten “Type” label [Fig. 3c, d]: ' Euoplia / Th / Leprodera spinosa / Th type’ . ‘Th’ should be the abbreviation of ‘Thomson’ . However, the genus Euoplia was erected by Hope (1839), and Thomson (1857) published this species with the name of ' Leprodera spinosa ', and the type specimens are deposited in the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle, Paris. Obviously, this is a labelling error by a curator and it is not the type specimen.
