Taxonomic remarks. Storena irrorata belongs to an undescribed genus of the subfamily Zodariinae and was described on the basis of an immature spider which was indicated by Thorell (1887) as a juvenile female. Males and conspecific females of S. irrorata were later described in his subsequent work (Thorell 1895) based on the specimens collected in Tharrawaddy by Oates and deposited in the collection of NHML. Subsequently, non-type specimens were collected from the type locality (Rangoon) and nearby regions (Palon and Prome); these specimens are deposited in the collections of MSNG and NHRS. New material recently collected from Burma was known from a small island at a distance of approximately 150 km from the type locality (MHNG), suggesting that M. irrorata is abundant in this region.
Distribution. Burma, the Irrawaddy delta (Prome, Palon, Rangoon) southwards to Thai-Burmese border at the Isthmus of Kra (Taninthayi Division).
