Distribution: Confined to Yarmouk Valley (Fig. 8).

Previous records: Mzeirib (Shehab et al. 2018).

Recent records: Koayah and Zaizoun (2010).

Remarks: An exotic rodent introduced from South America into the Jordan River in the early 1950’s (Bodenheimer 1958); established along the Jordan River to the Yarmouk Valley, where it is common.
