Lygus genus

(Fig. 2, node 11).

Lygus species are economically important group of insects in many agro-ecosystems (Shrestha et al. 2007). This genus comprises 163 species in the world (Schuh 2002 –2013), where three species have been recorded from Iran (Aukema 2020). The genus Lygus was recovered as a monophyletic group according to all analyses, with strong support (IW= 88%, EW= 86%). The monophyly of the genus Lygus was found in the previous studies based on morphological, molecular and combine data sets (e.g., Schwartz & Foottit 1998; Kim & Jung 2019).
