BIN: BOLD:AAG1400.
Host information.
Pyralidae: type reared from Galleria mellonella (Linnaeus, 1758) (Wilkinson 1932); also Achroia grisella (Fabricius, 1794), Achroia innonata (Walker, 1864), Vitula edmandsii (Packard, 1865).
Notes.
Specimens in BIN BOLD:AAG1400 morphologically identified as Apanteles galleriae were reared from both Galleria mellonella (CNCHYM45392=MRS_JFT 0107 ex. beehive with that species) and Achroia grisella (MRS_JFT0380). Additional host species recorded for non-type specimens are based on literature (e.g., Shimamori 1987; Watanabe 1987; Okada 1988; Whitfield and Cameron 1993); they are considered to be accurate because of the detailed evidence provided in those papers (rearing details, photos, and images), the expertise of the researchers that identified the parasitoids, and the fact that those host species are all wax moths, related to G. mellonella . Additional provinces for China are from Liu et al. (2020). This species is illustrated in Fig. 2.
