Trypophloeus granulatus (Ratzeburg, 1837)

Material examined. Golestan province, Gorgan, N 36°46' 68", E 54º 22' 48", 305 m a.s.l. breeding in twigs of Alnus sp. ( Betulaceae), Sudabe Amini leg., 4 specimens, August 2015.

This species was recorded from Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Russia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine and Serbia and Montenegro (Knížek 2011). This is the first record of genus in Iran. In addition, alder ( Alnus sp.) is a new host plant for Trypophloeus granulatus which was previously known only from Populus nigra and P. alba (Pfeffer 1995) .
