Vernacular Names: MacInnes's Mouse-tailed Bat.

Distribution: Kenya, Somalia, Eritrea, and Ethiopia.

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Vulnerable.

Discussion: Considered a subspecies of hardwickei by Koopman (1975, 1993, 1994) but see Van Cakenberghe and De Vree (1994).
