Type species. Microlysias xenokeras Stebbing, 1918, monotypy.
Included species. Microlysias includes two species: M. soela sp. nov; M. xenokeras Stebbing, 1918 .
Diagnostic description. Antenna 1 with strong 2-field callynophore in male and female; accessory flagellum well developed; not forming operculum. Antenna 2 flagellum article 5 swollen (with brush setae on the anterior margin). Mandible incisor slightly curved; palp attached midway to slightly distally. Maxilliped outer plate apical robust setae present (1 small and stubby). Gnathopod 1 subchelate; coxa large, nearly as long as coxa 2; ischium short; carpus shorter than propodus. Pereopod 4 coxa with well developed posteroventral lobe. Pereopods 5–7 basis without serrate posterior margins. Uropod 2 inner ramus not constricted. Uropod 3 rami with plumose setae in male and female. Telson deeply cleft.
