Lectotype (Wood & Harley in Kew Bull. 44: 225. 1989): [icon] " Sclarea hispanica " in Tabernaemontanus, New Vollk. Kräuterb .: 764. 1664.

Current name: Salvia hispanica L. ( Lamiaceae).

Note: Epling (in J. Bot. 67: 5. 1929) treated a Linnaean sheet as the standard (but not the same as a type). Wood & Harley’s appears to be the earliest formal choice of type.
