171. Argopecten noronhensis (E. A. Smith, 1885) ★ ■
Bathymetric distribution: 20–140 m —SW.
Geographical distribution: North (AP, PA), Northeast Brazil (including FN), and SC—B.
Remarks: This species was only described from Brazilian waters, including from the northernmost Brazilian State of Amapá, which suggests its occurrence in the Caribbean province. However, it was not noticed from the West Indian, Central America and Florida by Abbott (1974), Redfern (2001), Mikkelsen & Bieler (2007), Tunnel et al. (2010), and Turgeon et al. (2009), and so it is here considered as endemic from Brazil.
