Remarks: Although Cardites floridanus (Conrad, 1838) has been recorded from Brazil (e.g., Rios 1975, 1985, 1994, 2009; Soares–Gomes & Pires–Vanin 2003), Simone et al. (2015) suggested that these references are related to a different species, and so that it must be excluded from the Brazilian bivalve lists.
