Bathymetric distribution: 0–100 m —SW.

Geographical distribution: Brazil (BA) to Argentina (Bahia San Blas)—B/A.

Remarks: Although this species was recorded as occurring from 15 to 1850 m depth by Rios (1985, 1994, 2009), it is here considered as a shallow water species (as recorded by Simone, 2009a).
