Bathymetric distribution: 400–1068 m —DW.
Geographical distribution: Mid–Atlantic Ocean, off both Western and Eastern Atlantic (France to Sudan) coastlines; northernmost extent off the southern British Isles to southernmost extent off northeastern Brazil.
Remarks: Smith (1885) described Lima lata E. A. Smith, 1885, based on material collected "off St. Paul's Rocks in the Atlantic, northeast of Brazil ". Currently, L. lata is considered a synonym of L. marioni . Neither L. marioni or L. lata are present in the CTFB (2024).
