Type species: Xiphidiopsis pieli Tinkham, 1943
Body comparatively small. Male tenth abdominal tergite moderately broad, posterior margin slightly raised in middle, with 1 pair of long processes, straight or curved downwards; cerci separated into internal and external branches from subbasal portion, or slightly bifurcate at apex; subgenital plate subrectangle, longer than broad, posterior margin with a small medial notch; styli long or rather small. Titillators relatively short with dentate dorsal margin or rather long, spine-shaped, apices thin and acute. Female subgenital plate large, posterior margin with 1 small medial notch.
