Luehea fiebrigii Burret (1926: 829) .

Type:— BOLIVIA. Chuquisaca: 9 February 1904, Fiebrig 2684 (holotype B destroyed, photo in F! [negative number 9243]) . Neotype (designated here):— BOLIVIA. Santa Cruz: Caipipendi, Sierra Caipipendi-Cordillera, February 1951, Cardenas 4698 (US! [US00534899] ).

For Luehea fiebrigii, Burret (1926) cited Fiebrig 2684 as the original material, which would be deposited in herbarium B. This specimen was destroyed, and no other duplicate was found in the herbaria consulted. For these reasons, in accordance with Arts. 9.8 and 9.16 of the ICN, we will designate here the specimen Cardenas 4608 in US as a neotype of L. fiebrigii . This material was selected based on the morphological characters described by Burret and seen in the Field Negatives collection, and the geographic origin close to that of the lost holotype.
