Luehea seemannii var. chocoensis Cuatrecasas (1952: 482) .

Lectotype (designated here):— COLOMBIA. Valle: Rio Calima, 08 March 1944, Cuatrecasas 16779 (F! [V0073976F]; isolectotypes COL! [COL000002349]; F! [V0073977F]; US! [US00810556]).

Cuatrecasas (1952) cited the specimen Cuatrecasas 16779 in F as the type of Luehea seemannii var. chocoensis . Analysing the collection of herbarium F, we found two specimens associated with this taxon and collected by Cuatrecasas, without being identified as a multiple preparation (Art. 8.3 of the ICN). Therefore, we designate here, among the syntypes, the specimen F [V0073976F] as the lectotype of the name L. seemannii var. chocoensis, in accordance with Arts. 9.1 and 9.3 of the ICN.
