Remarks: Turbonilla deboeri (figs. 1317) has the same spiral sculpture pattern described for T. puncta, but can be distinguished by the outline of the whorls, which are semipyriform, with marked convexity in their posterior halves; and by the larger diameter of the protoconch, which ranges from 256 m to 333 m (mean diameter: 307 m, n = 29; 282 m in the holotype). T. deboeri exhibits some variation in the number of axial ribs per whorl and in the intercoastal spaces.
