Report as epibiont on bryozoans: This species was reported as epibiont on marine bryozoans Einhornia crustulenta (reported as Membraneipora crustulenta) in Kiel Bay, the North Sea (Precht 1935)

Report as epibiont on other hosts/substrata: The species was also found on artificial substrates in the form of microscope slides from shrimp-farming ponds and from a rock pool near Qingdao, China (Song et al., 2003).
