Remarks: The type locality is indicated as Mogote Dos Hermanas, Viñales (Fontenla, 1997).

There is another species with the same name described for Puerto Rico: Camponotus taino Snelling & Torres, 1998 is an unresolved junior primary homonym of Camponotus taino Fontenla, 1997 (www.antweb.org).
