Diagnosis: The genus Sason differs from the genera Paracenobiopelma and Cosmopelma in not having a clypeus; from Sipalolasma, Cosmopelma and Sasonichus in having the ocular group rectangular, and from Cosmopelma and Sasonichus in having strong and linear cuspules on labium of females (Raven 1985, 1986).
Distribution: Seychelles; India: Andaman Islands, Tamil Nadu, Kerala; Sri Lanka; Mariana Islands; Thailand, peninsular Malaysia and an Indonesian Island east of Sumatra; New Guinea; northern Australia (Raven 1994, Schwendinger 2003).
