Distribution. Widely distributed pantropical species, and especially commonly found on islands. The species has been recorded from Rodrigues Island, Bhamo (Kachlin State, Burma), Java, Sulawesi (=Celebes), St. Martin Island (French West Indies), Mauritius, Saipan (Mariana Islands, Micronesia), Guam Island (Micronesia), Aru Islands, Flores, Palau, Vietnam, Guadeloupe, Cuba, the Seychelles, Singapore, Phuket Island (Thailand), Sumba, Zanzibar, Bermuda, Nuku Hiva (Marquesas), Tahiti, Comoros (VandenSpiegel & Golovatch, 2007).
