Larinus maculatus Gyllenhal, 1836

Female lectotype in good condition (body length: 19.5 mm) here designated, pinned through the right elytron, and bearing the labels: “ Typus ” [red printed label], “ L. maculatus Falderm., Persia. Falderm.” [handwritten], “ Lectotypus (female), Larinus maculatus Gyll., L.
Gültekin des. 2006”, “ Larinus onopordi F., L. Gültekin det. 2006”. The male paralectotype is in good condition (body length: 16.0 mm), pinned through the right elytron, and bearing the labels: “Allotypus” [red printed label], L. maculatus Falderm., Persia. Falderm.” [handwritten], “ Paralectotypus (male), Larinus maculatus Gyll., L. Gültekin des. 2006”, “ Larinus onopordi F., L. Gültekin det. 2006”. Another female (body length: 15.6 mm) is not typical and bears the labels: “Caucasus, Kolenati”, “ Larinus onopordi F., L. Gültekin det. 2006”.
Remarks. The above designation confirms the placement of Larinus maculatus Gyllenhal, 1836 under the synonymy of Larinus onopordi (Fabricius, 1787) . The lectotype of the latter species was designated by Gültekin (2006a).
