Remarks. The species is widespread throughout West and Central Africa being associated to the palm Elaeis guineensis (Antoine & Camiade 1995; Schoolmeesters 2018). Jerath & Unny (1965) gave a very scanty description of P. barbata larvae. One adult female collected by the first author (AS) in Jemberem (Guinea-Bissau, 13.VII.2009) in a moist primary forest (Cambeque) by LT had several phoretic Pseudoscorpionida. Some ecological data were provided by Antoine & Camiade (1995) and, more recently, Joly (2018) gave novel biodiversity information (abundance, habitat preference) of this species for Ghana.
