Current status. Valid species.

Comments. H*©ƟMǍĐĸA (2010e, 2011a) described two different species under the name Philonthus haliaeetus . When he became aware of that, he proposed the new substitute name P. manis for the junior homonym (see below). Unfortunately, he changed the type labels under both homonymous species.
