Ecsenius portenoyi Springer ZBK,

USNM 364017 (9 specimens), Wallis Islands, Ile Uvea, 13°23’95” S, 176°14’15” W.

The additional character given by Springer and Randall (1999:42) to distinguish E. portenoyi ZBK from E. pardus McKinney & Springer ZBK is erroneous. It should read, “The interspace between the first and second or second and third spots in E. pardus ZBK is equal to or more than1.5 X the diameter of one of the spots, whereas in E. portenoyi ZBK it is almost always less than the diameter of any of the three spots.”
